Ms. Wurtzel provides assistance on projects requiring detailed financial
analysis. She was previously an Assistant Professor of Economics and
Business, at Framingham State College. Since 1991, she has been a Research
Economist at MetroWest Economic Research Center (MERC) at Framingham State
College. MERC collects and analyzes data related to economic conditions in
greater Boston suburban areas of MetroWest, South Shore,
and Tri-Center Cohesive Commercial Statistical Areas (CCSA), as well as the
Greater Marlborough Region. MERC provides information and commentary on
economic issues of vital interest to these regions. MERC analysis has proven
critical for regional and town planning as well as for the retention and
recruitment of MetroWest businesses.
Ms. Wurtzel earned a B.A. in
History and Education from Hunter College, a B.A. in Economics and a M.A. in Business
from Framingham State College, and a M.A. in Economics from Clark University.
Her areas of interest are Macroeconomic Theory, Money and Banking, Quantitative
Economics and Monetary Theory.
